Please submit a pitch for your complete, unpublished novel in any age category by May 31, 2025. Please see our full guidelines below. You must identify as AAPI to be considered. Stories centering an AAPI character are preferred. ​​
Submission Guidelines
Contrarian Publishing looks for romance, fantasy, and science fiction novels, in all age categories with profound messages at their core. We will also consider select mystery, thriller, and horror titles, as well as memoirs. We are not the publisher for those who have written straight-forward nonfiction books or poetry.
Send us an email with a pitch for your book including a description of your project, 10 sample pages, and a breakdown of where you're at in the writing process. This doesn't need to be as formal as a query, though you can send a standard query or submission if you have one. We just want to know more about you and your book!

We review every single submission we receive carefully and strive to ensure we're publishing books that authors will be proud of and that readers will love. If you receive a rejection from us, we are more than happy to provide feedback if requested. More than anything, we want to help authors tell the stories they were born to tell.
